Improving therapy for atrial fibrillation and bundle branch blocks
Starting in 2025, six European scientific institutions and two companies are partnering to develop innovative techniques to treat atrial fibrillation and bundle branch blocks based on modifying cardiac tissue conductivity. Aim of the project is conducting preclinical research to pave the way for a first-in-human application.
The NanoBeat project pioneers novel therapy concepts in Cardiac electrophysiology
In 2018, a new therapeutic concept was developed at Heidelberg Universtity Hospital in Germany to modify cardiac tissue conductivity in case of diseases, in which the cardiac conductive system is impaired. Two years later researchers from Heidelberg teamed up with Medtronic Backen Research Center Maastricht in the Netherlands. In 2025, finally, the NanoBeat consortium was started as an interdisciplinary consortium unifying the strengths of six Euroean research centers and two companies.
